Mark the edge of the lemon or pink ribbon at 1/2 inch intervals. Place the marked ribbon on top of the white ribbon, with the marked edge aligned with one edge of the white ribbon. Sew a 1/2 inch gathering sticth close to the edge. Be sure to sew through both ribbons.

Push the end of your work down toward the knot, keep your work flat.

Facing the clamp, gather your work toward the clothespin and start forming the flower. Pinch both ribbons between your fingers, between each stitch, and push your work toward the clothespin, forming one petal at a time. When the ribbons get tangled just release the clothespin from the clamp and dangle it by the ribbons and they will untangle themselves. Reattach the clothespin to the clamp and start again.

Indian Food Recipes and Cook Books

Butter Chicken Recipe 

This is my all time favourite Indian Chicken Curry Dish

Ingredients :

1 whole chicken
2 tomatoes puree in a blender
2 onions, chopped
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
15 cashew nuts paste
1 ½ tbsp butter
3 tbsp cream
1 tsp chilli powder
Oil for frying
salt to taste

For the marinade :

1 tbsp tandoori masala
½ tbsp garam masala (cloves, cinnamon and cardamom powdered)
2 tbsp lime juice
½ tsp jeera
5 tbsp yoghurt

Method :

Marinate the chicken in the marinade for 1 whole hour.

Heat oil in a non-stick pan and fry the chicken for 10 minutes.

Remove the chicken and keep aside.

In the remaining oil fry add the chopped onions till golden , then add the ginger-garlic paste and fry sprinkling little water now and then, till the oil separates.

Add the cashew paste, chilli powder, tomato paste and cook for 10 mins.

Add the butter and the cream and the chicken.

Mix well and cook till done.

Garnish with coriander.

Tourism Minister John Penrose said moving the May Day bank holiday could benefit tourism

The May Day bank holiday could be dropped and replaced by either St George's Day in April or Trafalgar Day in October under new tourism plans the Government has announced.

But a proposal for "double summertime" to bring the UK's clocks into line with Europe's was not in the tourism strategy despite widespread reports that it would be included.

Outlining the strategy, Tourism Minister John Penrose said moving the May Day bank holiday could bring tourism benefits.

Moving it to St George's Day on April 23 would get the tourist season off to an earlier start, while putting it back to the October half term would elongate the tourist season.

The bank holiday around St George's Day could be a "National Day" holiday while the October one could be either a "UK Day" or a national day to commemorate military victories such as Trafalgar.
