The market for rare and collectable records is booming. Scarce items by iconic acts like the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix are fetching five-figure sums at auction, while more modern names are also proving to be worthwhile investments.
And it's not just obscure items that are climbing in value. UK retailer 991.com - one of the world's biggest dealers in collectable records - saw sales increase 15% last year to £1.5 million, as increasing numbers of investors opted to plough their money into rock and pop.
